Curriculum
Matteo Cinelli is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Sapienza University of Rome, Italy. Previously, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Environmental Sciences, Informatics, and Statistics at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice and at the Institute for Complex Systems of the National Research Council of Italy. He holds a European Label Ph.D. in Management Engineering from the University of Rome Tor Vergata. He was a visiting researcher at Institute of Information and Communication Technologies, Electronics and Applied Mathematics of UCLouvain, Belgium. His research focuses on networks and data science, with a particular emphasis on information diffusion and social media. Matteo is a member of the Center for Data Science and Complexity for Society (CDCS) and has published in leading multidisciplinary scientific journals, including Nature, PNAS, and Cell, as well as in specialized field journals. Matteo Cinelli has delivered numerous contributed and invited talks at international conferences and prominent institutions, including the European Commission, Google and Meta. He collaborates with researchers worldwide and with members of prominent organizations such as the World Health Organization.
